Burning herbs, or moxa made of ground mugwort leaves, to release heat around body’s meridians and acupoints. Helps promote circulation over areas of chronic pain or muscle tension. Prevents cold and diseases, while strengthens organs and immunization.

Heating the glass cup and placing it over section of the skin to increase blood circulation, unblocking the flow of Qi, and relieving muscle tension by forming new tissue and blood vessels as a form of self repair. Helps promote cell repair, releasing toxins for back, neck, and arm sore.

DOCTOR JOHN Z. CHEN

In 1989, Dr. Chen completed his bachelor’s degree in Bioengineer and began to study acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine while living in China.

Dr. Chen became a California Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) after receiving his Master Digree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 1996.

In 2000, Dr. Chen completed his third degree: Master Degree in Software Engineering.

In 2008, Dr. Chen started his own clinic, Acupuncture Group Practice, providing alternative health care to local communities and people from all over the world.

Dr. Chen speaks fluent Mandarin, Cantonese Chinese, and English, and has been practicing and providing acupuncture service in San Diego area for over 25 years.

California Acupuncture Board Approved

The State of California has led the nation in the field of acupuncture, becoming the first to license qualified practitioners as primary health care professionals in 1978.

A current valid license issued by the Board must be posted in a conspicuous location in their office.

The responsibilities of the California Acupuncture Board are to license and regulate the profession in accordance with the Acupuncture Licensure Act, which identifies acupunctures as a Primary Health Care profession. The Board is an autonomous body under the umbrella of the Department of Consumer Affairs. The primary responsibility of the Acupuncture Board is to protect consumers from incompetent, unprofessional, and fraudulent practitioners.
